Cliff over the sea
The Jumeirah Port Sóller opened its doors in April 2012, culminating a construction project that had faced significant delays when the original funding ran out, pausing work for seven years. Jumeirah, a Dubai-based luxury hotel brand, acquired the unfinished project and completed it to its international hospitality standards. The location was historically remote until two decades ago, when the construction of the Sóller tunnel cut through the slopes of the Serra de Tramuntana, opening up the orange valley to cyclists and adventurers. Before the tunnel, the winding roads and hairpin bends created by the mountains kept Sóller isolated from the rest of Mallorca. The resort represents the arrival of world-class international luxury on Mallorca's rural west coast.

The resort is distributed in 11 low-rise buildings perched on a high rocky promontory overlooking the fishing port of Port de Sóller, with exceptional views of the Mediterranean. The architectural design respects the natural landscape of the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, integrating the buildings into the mountainous surroundings. The 121 spacious and bright rooms, recently renovated, feature private terraces or balconies with views of the Mediterranean Sea or the Tramuntana mountain range. The Talise spa occupies a tranquil two-story structure with floor-to-ceiling windows offering mountain views, designed as a wellness sanctuary. The heated outdoor hydropool and infinity pool seem to blend into the Mediterranean horizon. The design combines understated luxury with landscape integration, creating a secluded retreat in the northwest of Mallorca.
