Historic“Contemporary design in a palace in Palma”
Hotel Sant Francesc occupies a stately 19th-century Mallorcan palace in the maze of streets of Palma's old town. Its contemporary renovation respected the mares stone walls and coffered ceilings, integrating them with minimalist design and a terrace with a panoramic pool.

The location of the hotel was part of the property of the Church of Santa Eulalia, when Palma was divided into five parishes that held judicial, financial and administrative power. The first stone of the Church of Sant Francesc was laid in January 1281 by order of King James II. The current building is a neoclassical house-palace whose last modification took place in 1860. It belonged to the Alomar family from the beginning of the 19th century until the end of the 20th century, a wealthy family that made its fortune from the large sugar cane plantations in Puerto Rico. By becoming a hotel, one of the most important private residences in Palma has been preserved, maintaining the magnificent original details.

The 1860s neoclassical building retains its original architectural elements: wood-beamed ceilings, frescoes, moldings and a pleasant interior courtyard typical of Mallorcan manor houses. The renovation integrated these historic elements with an avant-garde and sophisticated design, creating modern and elegant spaces that contrast with the vestiges of the past. The décor includes an extensive collection of works by contemporary artists such as Guillem Nadal and Miguel Ángel Campano, along with pieces by renowned designers such as Antonio Citterio and Jaime Hayón. The rooftop terrace with pool offers panoramic views over the rooftops of Palma's old town.

The hotel is in the Plaza de Sant Francesc, one of the oldest areas of Palma, known as Madina Mayurqa in its Muslim era. Palma Cathedral, one of the most impressive Gothic cathedrals in the Mediterranean, is just a few meters away. The Royal Palace of the Almudaina and the Gothic Lonja complete the monumental ensemble. The maze of streets in the old town offers art galleries, designer stores and restaurants. The promenade and the port are within walking distance.
