Fortaleza militar del siglo XIX convertida en refugio de lujo
Historic“The hidden jewel of northern Tenerife”
Hotel San Roque is an 18th century mansion in Garachico, a fishing village that was once Tenerife's most important port before a volcanic eruption transformed it. The natural lava pools, colonial architecture and tranquility of northern Tenerife create a perfect contrast to the touristy south.
The natural pools of El Caletón and a stroll through the colonial old town.

The San Roque is the creation of the Carayon family, who fell in love with the 18th century Casa de Ponte in the early 1990s and spent four years devoting all their energy and resources to restoring this sadly neglected mansion to its former glory. This important house was built towards the end of the 18th century by a descendant of the aristocratic Genoese Cristóbal de Ponte, founder of the town and port of Garachico. The restoration by Dominique Carayon and architect José Luis Adelantado honored the estate's past while breathing new life into its spaces.

This 20-room, adults-only, luxury boutique hotel was a mansion before being restored. A Bauhaus-style décor was added to its traditional architecture, both understated and functional. The hotel masterfully combines the high ceilings and arches of its historic structure with the parallel lines and distinctive look of the original furnishings of the Glasgow School and later Bauhaus movement. From the chasnera stone that adorns the courtyard floor to the works of Miquel Navarro, Carmen Calvo and José Noguero, every corner breathes creativity and tradition.

The hotel is located in the historic town of Garachico, on the north coast of Tenerife. Garachico was the most important port of Tenerife until a volcanic eruption in 1706 transformed it. The natural pools of El Caletón, formed by lava that reached the sea, are just a short walk away. The colonial old town is perfectly preserved. The Teide National Park, with the highest peak in Spain, is less than an hour away.
Bathing in the natural pools formed by the volcanic lava of 1706 that reached the sea, a few meters from the hotel.
