History

Hotel Rural El Dossel occupies a stately palace built in the 18th century in the heart of Todolella, a small village in the Maestrazgo region of Castellón that preserves intact its medieval and baroque heritage. The restoration of the palace was carried out with extreme care, respecting the original structure of thick stone walls, century-old wooden beams, and traditional floors.

The architecture of the palace responds to the canons of 18th century stately architecture in Maestrazgo: sturdy construction of local stone, distribution around an inner courtyard, thick walls that guarantee coolness in summer and protection in winter, and large section wooden beams that support the upper floors.
