Neri Hotel

The 12th century mansion stands in what was once the Jewish quarter, a few meters from the cloister of the cathedral and the Plaza Sant Jaume, home to the Town Hall and the palace of the Generalitat. The hotel combines two buildings: the Renaissance palace on Carrer Sant Sever and the 18th-century complex on Plaça Sant Felip Neri. The 2007 restoration by the Anima Hotels group respected the original elements, recovering the Renaissance sgraffito and wooden coffered ceilings. The small square of Sant Felip Neri preserves the remains of shrapnel in the walls of the church, memory of the bombing of the Civil War. Gaudí used to go to this church to receive mass on Sundays.

The hotel has two main facades corresponding to the two original buildings: the 12th century medieval palace and the 18th century mansion. From the medieval construction, the old courtyard was recovered and the interior sgraffito, considered one of the most important in Barcelona, was restored. The original wooden coffered ceilings were preserved. The 22 rooms combine minimalist handcrafted wooden furniture with the centuries-old stone walls. The rooms on the second floor display large murals. The Roba Estesa terrace crowns the building as an oasis of greenery with Gothic views.

The hotel is in the heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, a few meters from the cloister of the Cathedral and Plaza Sant Jaume, home to the City Hall and the Generalitat. Plaça Sant Felip Neri offers a peaceful spot with its fountain and the tipuanas planted after the Civil War. Las Ramblas and the port are nearby. El Born and Santa Maria del Mar are within walking distance. The Call, the old Jewish quarter, surrounds the hotel.
