Hotel Hacienda Na Xamena

Polish-born Belgian architect Daniel Lipszyc and his wife Ninie had been visiting Ibiza regularly since 1954, and in the 1960s decided to build a hotel that reflected their experience of the island. He bought 150 hectares of land on the Na Xamena cliff and began construction in 1969. At that time there was no road, water or electricity on the site. An eclectic whitewashed property opened in 1971 with 54 rooms available. In 1988, the Hacienda became the first hotel in Ibiza to receive a five-star rating. The hotel remains in the hands of the Lipszyc family, with son Alvar and his wife Sabine embracing the original simplicity of its founder.

Designed by Belgian architect Daniel Lipszyc, the property beautifully integrates the hotel into the surrounding cliffs, ensuring an authentic Ibiza hippie vibe while maintaining impeccable service. Suspended on the cliffside, Hacienda Na Xamena cascades over five floors, 180 meters above sea level. The whitewashed, eclectic style reflects traditional Ibicencan architecture adapted to the rugged terrain.

The hotel is located in the northern part of the island, on the cliff of Na Xamena in the Natural Park of Es Amunts. This area is the most authentic Ibiza, away from the crowds and mass tourism. The village of Sant Miquel de Balansat is nearby, with its 14th century fortified church. The unspoiled beaches of northern Ibiza, such as Benirràs, are within walking distance.
