Fontenille Menorca

Fontenille Menorca was born in 2019 when owners Frédéric Biousse and Guillaume Foucher of Les Domaines de Fontenille recovered two typical Menorcan farmhouses doomed to disappear. Torre Vella is a 14th century estate listed as an exceptional cultural property. Santa Ponsa is an iconic 17th century palace whose terraced gardens are irrigated by a gravitational irrigation system unique in the Balearics. They have been members of Relais & Châteaux since 2019. The two properties, of different styles, are located within a few kilometers of each other in the municipality of Alaior, forming a 300-hectare sanctuary that embodies Balearic authenticity.

Torre Vella, located at the bottom of a valley, was designed as a simple, bohemian retreat. The 17 rooms are housed in old granaries and detached houses, decorated with white sheers, driftwood, local stone and natural fabrics. Some suites are troglodytic, carved into the rock with private pools. Santa Ponsa fuses Islamic-inspired architecture with landscaped gardens. The spa takes advantage of the original 17th-century cistern. Waxed concrete, wood, whitewashed walls and wild nature contribute to total immersion in the spirit of the island.

The fincas are located in Alaior, in the heart of Menorca. The unspoilt coves of the south of the island are within easy reach. Mahon, the capital with its natural harbor, is nearby. The Camí de Cavalls, the ancient coastal path that circles the island, passes through the area. Menorca's prehistoric talayots, candidates for World Heritage status, dot the landscape. The Biosphere Reserve of Menorca protects the entire island territory.
