Historic“Volcanic wines in a lunar landscape”
Finca de las Salinas is a boutique hotel on a wine estate in Lanzarote, where the vineyards grow in holes dug in the lava to protect them from the wind. The lunar landscape of La Geria, declared a Biosphere Reserve, and the volcanic malvasia wines create a unique experience.

Distinction of excellence
La Geria
Total intimacy
Finca de las Salinas was built in 1800 in the village of Yaiza, south of Lanzarote. The historic building precedes the great transformation of the wine-growing landscape of La Geria, which was born after the eruptions of Timanfaya between 1730 and 1736, when the Conejeros farmers invented the system of holes dug in the lava to cultivate the vine. The estate has been restored as a boutique hotel maintaining its original structure of two buildings, now converted into 19 intimate rooms surrounded by the volcanic landscapes that define the identity of Lanzarote.
Construction
1800
The original 1800's finca has been restored respecting the traditional Lanzarote architecture of whitewashed walls and green woodwork. The hotel is distributed in two historic buildings with colorful and cozy rooms that contrast with the volcanic landscape outside. The gardens connect the common spaces with the private terraces of each room. The spa occupies an independent space with a complete thermal circuit. The heated pool in winter is integrated into the garden overlooking the volcanoes of Timanfaya National Park.
Islas Canarias
Yaiza is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, with its traditional white and green architecture. The Timanfaya National Park with its volcanoes and geysers is only a few kilometers away. The Papagayo beaches, the most spectacular of the island, are within easy reach. The wine region of La Geria with its lunar landscapes of pitted vineyards offers visitable wineries. The salt mines of Janubio, the largest in the Canary Islands, produce artisanal salt nearby. The Lanzarote Biosphere Reserve protects the entire island territory.
