El gran hotel de Madrid, reinventado para el siglo XXI
Historic“The surrealist Madrid of Jaime Hayón”
The Barceló Torre de Madrid occupies the emblematic skyscraper in Plaza de España, reinvented by Valencian designer Jaime Hayón. Its interior is a surreal journey through Spanish culture, with references to Dalí, Picasso and Buñuel's cinema. The panoramic views from the rooftop are incomparable.

Madrid icon
The 142-meter Torre Madrid building was built in 1957 and became an icon of the city. Nine of its thirty-four floors now house this ambitious hotel. As a native Madrileño, Jaime Hayón saw the opportunity to create something unique for the Barceló group in one of the city's most iconic buildings as a way to bring his signature talents to his hometown.

Jaime Hayón wanted to showcase the diversity and richness of Madrid through his design, mixing traditional architectural elements and a jewel-toned color palette with fantastic sculptures and art pieces. A deep and rich color palette was used, along with finishes reminiscent of the Arab, Moorish and Roman influences that had played a role in shaping Spain's culture and architecture. Many of the furniture and lighting fixtures used in the hotel come from Hayón's multiple collaborations with Fritz Hansen, &Tradition, Gubi, Arflex, Cassina and BD Barcelona. Each unique detail lends the ambiance of a boutique hotel but taken to a nine-story scale that only a true grand hotel can provide.
