Historic“An Andalusian village facing the Mediterranean”
Puente Romano is a unique resort that recreates a white Andalusian village on the shores of the Mediterranean. Its cobblestone streets connect villas, subtropical gardens and several high-end restaurants, including Dani Garcia's restaurant. An original Roman bridge from the 1st century A.D. gives its name to the complex.

Living History
Puente Romano owes its name to an authentic Roman bridge from the 1st century A.D. that still stands on the property, part of the Via Augusta that connected Cadiz to Rome. In the 1970s, Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe, the mind behind the nearby Marbella Club, saw an opportunity to create something unique: he commissioned Bolivian architect Melvin Villarroel to design an Andalusian village-style apartment complex, an elegant alternative to his neighboring hotel. The first apartments were built in 1974 with whitewashed facades, terracotta tiles and cobblestone plazas. In 1979, businessman Mouffak Al Midani converted the apartments into a hotel, and within just two years it joined The Leading Hotels of the World. In 1995, the Shamoon family took over ownership and began the modern transformation, adding the Nobu Hotel, La Plaza and the impressive Andalusia Conference Center.

The architecture of the Puente Romano was deliberately inspired by traditional Andalusian villages, an unprecedented concept on the Golden Mile. The low-rise, whitewashed buildings with terracotta roofs are organized like an Andalusian village with cobblestone paths, central plazas and fountains. The resort makes the most of its 30,000 m² extension by dedicating only 10,000 m² to buildings, while the rest is devoted to gardens, swimming pools, fountains, streams and waterfalls. The integration of the 1st century Roman bridge into the heart of the resort adds a unique historical dimension.
Andalucía
Puente Romano occupies a privileged position on Marbella's Golden Mile, on the shores of the Mediterranean and amidst 55,000 m² of subtropical gardens. The resort connects naturally to the beach and offers direct access to the sea. Puerto Banús and the old town of Marbella are within walking distance. The property adjoins the Marbella Club, creating a unique luxury corridor on the Costa del Sol where guests can stroll between two of the most emblematic hotels in southern Spain.
